Our boat ride to Lamainia started at compound of John McAfee, the infamous computer virus tycoon who was in the news recently for his activies in Belize (http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/11/threatlevel_1112_mcafee/). When we arrived to get on the boat, we were directed to a new location along the New River to a similar looking, and quite secure, compound. Sure enough, our guide indicated that it had been leased from McAfee after his leaving the country. Here you can see some of the various buildings he housed his "women" in.
