The Comfort Zone
As I am rapidly realizing, Belize is way out of my comfort Zone! Today for lunch we were served salbutes. They have some kind of shredded, seasoned chicken with a salsa topping (on mine it was the cabbage kind). I am a very picky eater. But when I chose to come on this trip, I realized that God had called me to step out of my comfort zone, to try, and to experience new things. I resolved to try everything that I was served, even if I would normally refuse it at home. The cabbage tested my limits, but it was alright. I found that I enjoyed the salbutes and was glad I had tried them. I also realized that this applies to more than foods. It includes interacting with people in ways that I never have as well.
